Chase-Mrs. Etta M. Chase, 89, of New Berlin, died Friday in Binghamton, after a long illness. She is survived by two sons, Homer Chanse, Binghamton; Alfred Chase, New Berlin; one granddaughter and three great grandchildren; two brothers, Otis and George Ahsley, both of Hartwick; two sisters, Mrs. Bessie Cobb, New Berlin; Mrs. Lena Chase, Stamford. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of New Berlin; the Otsenango Grange, the Pittsfield Home Bureau. Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the Dakin Funeral Home, New Berlin with Rev. James Shillabeer officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, New Berlin. Calling hours will be Sunday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. (Published in the Press & Sun Bulletin Feb. 26, 1977)

She married Julius Chase in 1906. They had children: Alfred and Homer.
