Kentucky New Era obit posted on 9/29/2001 reads as follows:

CADIZ, Ky. — Hayden Sholar, 76, Cadiz, died of natural causes at 9:40 a.m. Friday, Sept. 28, 2001, at Trigg County Hospital.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Goodwin Funeral Home, with theRev. Bob McIntosh officiating. Burial will follow in Cerulean Cemetery.

Visitation will be at 4 this afternoon at the funeral home.

A native of Trigg County, he was born July 8, 1925. He was the son of the late Jesse Smoot and Rosella Choate Sholar and was a farmer and a member of Oakland Methodist Church. His wife, Opal Elizabeth Frances Sholar, died in 1992. Two daughters, Lisa Dawn Sholar and Penny Diane Herbert, also preceded him in death.

Survivors include four sons, Wallace Sholar, Cadiz, Wayne Sholar, Gulfport, Miss., and Danny Sholar and Ricky Sholar, both of Cadiz; three daughters, Carolyn Sholar, Debbie Burcham and Donna Sue Skinner, all of Cadiz; two brothers, Robert Sholar and Kelly Sholar, both of Cadiz; two sisters, Frances Herndon, Cadiz, and Nell Francis, Evansville; and 21 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
