Robert Jesse Sholar, age 90 of Cadiz (Trigg County) died Saturday, September 3, 2005. He was the son of the late Jesse Smoot and Anna Rosella Choate Sholar, a member of Oakland United Methodist Church and a farmer.

He is survived by his wife, Lula Pearl Lancaster Sholar, Cadiz; three sons: Robert C. Sholar, Virginia Beach, VA; Richard Sholar, Cadiz and Clyde J. Sholar (husband of Brenda Sholar), Pleasureville; four daughters: Pearl Allen, Linda Rose Sholar and Mary Foster all of Cadiz and Brenda Sue Lancaster, Clarksville, TN; one brother, one sister, eight grandchildren, including Jessi Sholar Drawbaugh (wife of Ricky Drawbaugh), Pleasureville, nine great-grandchilden and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held Tuesday, September 6 at Goodwin Funeral Home in Cadiz. Burial was in Green Hill Memorial Gardens, Hopkinsville.

Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville was in charge of arrangements.
