Bill Jones was born in Richmond, VA, to the late William Montgomery Jones and Mattie Fairfax Brooks Jones. He was known as "Bubba" to his parents and siblings.
Bill and his family lived in the Essex Co, VA/ Washington, DC area until 1958 when they moved to Huntsville, AL.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Mary Justine Everett Jones; sons, Wilbert T. (Billy) Jones Jr., William Joseph (Joe) Jones and an infant son (stillborn); grandson, Wilbert T. (Little Billy) Jones III; great-grandson, Christopher Austin; son-in-law, Howard C. Bozeman; two sisters, Margaret Jones Brizendine and Elsie Jones Davis; and three brothers, Vernon Jones, Raymond Jones and Lewis Jones.
Survivors include five daughters, Betty Cooper and husband Charles, Mary Jo Ball and husband Earl, Shirley Martin and husband Larry Wayne, Marion [Little Bit] Craig and husband Jerry and Janet Jones-Bozeman; 17 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Jay, and Clyde Jones; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mr. Jones was a World War II Army veteran and a retired automobile mechanic. He built three of the houses we lived in (Arkansas, Virginia and Alabama) and also helped to build a home for our grandmother.
A graveside service with Military honors was held on February 16, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Valhalla Memory Gardens. New Hope Funeral Home assisted the family.
