Lewis Winston Jones, 72, of Farnham died Monday, February 20, 2012.
He was the retired owner and operator of Jones Alternator and Starter Repair in Tappahannock.
Lewis is survived by his wife, Evelyn Irene Jones; two children, Lewis Winston Jones Jr. and wife Bonnie of Haynesville and Barbara Lynn Jones Saunders and husband Chris of Gloucester; three brothers, Clyde Melton Jones of Tappahannock, James Elwood "Jay" Jones of Richmond, and Wilbert T. (Bill) Jones of Huntsville, AL; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, with one expected in May; two step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren with another little one on the way; five special sisters-in-law; numerous nieces and nephews and his good friend, Mozie.
The family would like to especially thank the Riverside-Tappahannock Hospice, the members of the Warsaw Church of God and Reverend Dave Metz for their kindness and care given during the past months.
Funeral services were held Thursday, February 23, 2012 in the Marks-Bristow Funeral Home, Tappahannock with the Reverend Dave Metz officiating. Interment followed in Ephesus Baptist Church Cemetery, Dunnsville.
Lewis was preceded in death by his parents, William Montgomery Jones and Mattie Fairfax Brooks Jones; sisters, Margaret Louise Jones Brizendine, Elsie Ward "Hun" Jones Davis, Helen Fairfax Jones, Emily Brown Jones, and Eva Jane Jones; brothers, Vernon William Jones, Raymond Eugene Jones and John Jones.
