Son of the late John L. and Elmer Josephine McAbee Steadings, retired truck driver. He was a member of Hearon Circle Freewill Baptist Church.
Also surviving; sons, Marion Edward, Thomas Franklin and Donald Maurice, all of Spartanburg; daughters, Mrs. Annie Louise Gregory and Mrs. Mary Jane Alexander, both of Union, Mrs. Judy Satterfield of Spartanburg and Miss Joyce Margaret Steadings of Charleston; brother, Jack Steadings of Spartanburg; sisters, Mrs. Clara Reynolds, Mrs. Minnie Belle Fortenberry and Mrs. Martha Cox, all of Spartanburg and Mrs. Elmer Richards of Walnut Grove; 13 grandchildren.
Services are incomplete and will be announced later by the J. F. Floyd Mortuary.
