CHARLES PRICE
Charles Sumner Price, son of Miles and Emeline Price was born in McDonough County, Ill., in the year 1870 and departed this life December 16, 1945, at the age of 75 years.
At the age of five he came to Iowa with his parents. With the exception of a few years, he lived the remainder of his life in and near Russell.
On March 7, 1893, he was united in marriage to Emma Florence Mart. To this union 13 children were born, one son, Kenneth J. preceding him in death. Those left to mourn are Earl, Fred, Charles, Glenn, Keith and Mrs. Dorothy Langston, all of Hemingford, Nebr., Mrs. Mabel Lee, Mrs Eva Payne, both of San Jose, Calif., Mrs. Floy Bachert of Sacramento, Calif., Bessie of Glenwood, Mrs. Earl Thomas of Des Moines, and Myrtle, at home.
There are 19 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, also one brother, Asa A. Price, and two sisters, Mrs. Harriet Conner of Russell and Ida Price of Denison, Ia.
Mr. Price made many friends thru the years who will remember him as an honest, hard working man, a good neighbor and friend, willing at all times to help those in need. Within the home circle he took a keen interest in the welfare of those dear to his heart. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Funeral services were held at the Russell Methodist church, Tuesday, December 18th at 2 p..m., conducted by Rev. A. E. Beals, assisted by Rev. J. A. Worrell. Interment was in the Russell cemetery.
