PRICE

Fred Everett Price, son of Charles S. and Emma Mart Price was born in Lucas County, May 20, 1897 and departed this life, April 22, 1982 in Lucas County Memorial Hospital at the age of 84 years, 11 months and two days.

His young adult life was spent in the Russell vicinity and on Feb. 20, 1918, he was united in marriage to Ethel Muriel Ewald in Russell. To this union two daughters were born, Muriel May and Bonnie Lou.

The family moved to Hemingford, Nebr. in 1929, and Fred was engaged in farming and raising potatoes. He continued to live in both Nebraska and Colorado until late in 1963, when he returned to Iowa, where he remained until the time of his death, residing in both the Promise City and Chariton areas. He was a resident of Southgate from 1977 until he moved to the Chariton Manor, just a few days ago on April 12.

Fred was preceded in death by his mother, father, five sisters, Myrtle Price, Mabel Lee, Ethel Thomas, Eva Chamberlain, Dorothy Langston and a brother, Kenneth.

He leaves to mourn his two daughters, Muriel Witman, Bonnie Stone, and a son-in-law, Keith E. Stone, all of Chariton. several grandchildren; his brothers, Earl of Alliance, Nebr., Charles and wife Agnes, Glen and wife Pauline of Hemingford, Nebr.; two sisters, Bessie of Carlisle, and Mrs. Floy Webster of Sacramento, Calif., along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and the many friends of his long life.

Fred was always a happy person and enjoyed having been in his large family. He always welcomed people into his home and enjoyed visiting, until poor health prohibited his doing so. There was a cheery "Hello" for all those he met along the way along with his big smile. He will be greatly missed by all those who survive.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 24, 1982 at the Fielding Funeral Home with the Rev. Wauneita McConnell conducting. Burial was in the Russell Cemetery.
