PRICE - Asa Arthur Price, son of Emeline and Miles Price, was born August 25, 1881, on a farm near Russell and passed away at the Johnson Nursing home in Chariton, Tuesday, July 12, 1966, after a lingering illness.
On March 18, 1908 he was united in marriage to Mary Maude Beals in Russell, who preceded him in death in 1955. To this union five children were born: Russell Beals Price of Winona, Minn.; Everett Miles Price of Norton, Kans.; Mary Hazel Pierce of Russell; Helen Ruth Brazil of Centerville; and Ralph Eugene Price of Russell, all of which are living.
There are 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Also, there is one surviving sister, Ida Price of Denison; one sister-in-law, Emma Price of Chariton; and one brother-in-law, Will Conner of Russell. Two sisters and two brothers preceded him in death.
He was a member of the First Baptist church. For many years he was a hardware dealer in Russell. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and was highly respected by all who knew him.
The Rev. Glenn Saunders officiated at the funeral services held at the Woodman Funeral home in Russell, Friday afternoon, with burial in the Russell cemetery.
