Rhoda Lee Johnson was the daughter of Richard Newman Johnson and Rachel Manley. She married Andrew Jackson Potter about 1888. They were the parents of Wallace Newman and Lottie Potter.

OBITUARY FOR RHODA LEE (JOHNSON) POTTER
DIED -- At 12 o'clock Saturday night, April 22, (1893), Mrs. Rhoda Potter, wife of A. J. Potter living __ miles from town, passed quietly over the line that separates life in this world from that in the country beyond the chilly waters of the Jordan of death.
Mrs. Potter's illness dates back some four or five years, but she was able to be up and to attend to her household duties until about six weeks ago, when her suffering became so intense as to render a surgical operation necessary. This was successfully performed and the wound healed with no bad results, but her strength has been gradually failing, as she was unable to take nourishments of any kind into her stomach, and all efforts to correct this trouble failed in their purpose.
Her remains were interred in the Pleasant Mound cemetery on Sunday evening, Rev. Miller conducting the funeral services.
Mrs. Potter leaves a husband and one child and a host of friends to mourn her untimely death.
The MESQUITER extends its sympathy and condolence to the grief stricken husband and family in their sad bereavement.
