Daughter of Jesse Needham and Elizabeth Ann Whittington. Married to Captain Samuel E. Northington on 24 Sep 1845 in Guilford Co, NC. Jesse's and Elizabeth's burial locations are currently unknown.

Sarah was the older sister of Mary Needham McEwen, Martha Needham Gentry, Elizabeth Needham Hutchinson, and Cornelia Needham Dickey (wife of Robert M. Dickey).

Mrs. Sarah F. Northington

Mrs. Sarah F. Northington, who died at 3:45 o'clock yesterday afternoon at her home, 1102 Mechanics Street, was the widow of the late Captain S.E. Northington, who died twenty-four years ago. Mrs. Northington was born in Guilford county near Greensboro, N.C., April 2, 1830. She was married to Captain Northington in September 1845. In 1853 they moved to Taylorsville, (now Mountain City) East Tennessee. They lived in Tenneesse until the spring of 1881, when they moved to Emporia, where she has lived since. She leaves eight children, Drs. S.E. and J.G. Northington of Emporia; J.E. and J.W. of Lyon County; Charles T. of Chicago; Henry A. of Knoxville, Tenn; Mrs. E.V. Adams, of Mountain City, Tenn; and Mrs. M.L. Widby, of Ottumwa, S.D. She has two living sisters in North Carolina. Mrs. Northington came from a long-lived family, and was in good health up to a short time ago.

The funeral will be held at 3 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at the home. Rev. W.C. McCurdy, of the First Methodists church, will conduct the services, will conduct the services, and interment will be made in Maplewood.

Funeral services for the late Mrs. S. F. Northington were held yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the home. Rev. W. C. Macurdy officiated. The body will not be interred until Henry Northington arrives from Knoxville, Tenn. A telegram was received when the funeral was in progress that he would be here, and for that reason the body is held awaiting his arrival.

H. A. Northington, of Knoxville, Tenn., is visiting his brother, S. A. Northington, of this place. Mr. Northington came here to attend the funeral of his mother last Tuesday. He operates a furniture store in Knoxville.
