He was born in Fayette Jan. 10, 1896, to Louis and Clara Hanson Bredeson. He attended school in Fayette.
His marriage to Ida Mabel Erickson took place Feb. 18, 1920, in the Yellowstone Church parsonage. They farmed in rural Shullsburg until retiring and moving to Fayette in 1960. She died Nov. 21, 1979.
Surviving are two sons, Vernice B. Bredeson, Rt. 2, Blanchardville, and Russell, Darlington; three brothers, Glen, Argyle; Sherman, Darlington, and Archie, Monroe; a sister, Mrs. Blanche Evans, Beloit; six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents, one sister and six brothers.
Mr. Bredeson was a Private with Co. A of the 148th Infantry, U.S. Army, during World War I. He served in Belgium, France and Argonne. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Blanchardville, and the Darlington American legion Post.
Funeral rites will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, in the Trinity Lutheran Church, Blanchardville, with the Rev. Mark Ziemer officiating. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery, Blanchardville.
Visitation was held at the Saether Funeral Home, Blanchardville, on Wednesday, Aug. 5.
