Monroe/Darlington- Archie E. Bredeson, age 70, of Monroe, Wisconsin and formerly of Darlington, Wisconsin died on Wednesday, July 12, 1989 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Madison. He was born May 23, 1919, in Fayette, Wisconsin, the son of Lewis and Clara Hanson-Bredeson. He married the former Elaine Burns on February 23, 1943, in Shullsburg, Wisconsin. She preceded him in death on August 28, 1975. He was an Army and Air Force Veteran of World War II flying 29 missions from 1941 to 1945. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Darlington and a member of the Bates-O'Brien-Howe-Wiegel Post #214 of Darlington.
Survivors include a dear friend, Alvina Wood, of Monroe, Wisconsin; a daughter, Susan (John) Herbst of Deforest, Wisconsin; a son, John (Sonya) Bredeson of Cuba City, Wisconsin; six grandchildren; and two brothers, Glenn (Tony) Bredeson of Stoughton, Wisconsin and Sherman Bredeson of Darlington, Wisconsin. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was also preceded in death by a daughter, Judy Barry.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Friday, July 14, 1989, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Darlington, with Father Tom Coyle officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3 until 9 pm on July 13, 1989 at the Steil Camacho Funeral Home, Darlington, where a rosary service will be at 8 pm.
