S. BREDESON
Sherman R. Bredeson, 81, Darlington, died Friday, Sept 15, 1995, at the LaFayette Manor Nursing Home, Darlington.
He was born in Fayette Township, LaFayette County, Feb. 9, 1914, the son of Lewis and Clara (Hanson) Bredeson. On Dec. 13, 1941, he married Hildred E. Shockley at the Leadmine Primitive Methodist Church in Leadmine.
Sherman lived and farmed in Fayette Township until moving into Darlington in 1972. He worked at Darlington Milling Company for his first year in town. He then worked in maintenance at the LaFayette Manor Nursing Home and Memorial Hospital, both in Darlington for a number of years.
He was a member of the Darlington United Methodist Church. He enjoyed woodworking and working with his hands.
Survivors include his wife Hildred, at home; a son, Robert Bredeson, Platteville; a daughter-in-law, Judy Bredeson, Madison; and a granddaughter. Sherman was the last survivor of 12 children.
Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 18, 1995, at the Darlington United Methodist Church. Rev. C. Phillip Burt officiated. Burial was in Union Grove Cemetery, Darlington. Pallbearers were Paul Shockley, Les Torstenson, Paul Bredeson, Vernice Bredeson, Harlan Bredeson, Harold Thompson, Freddie Wirtz and Gary Bredeson.
The Erickson Funeral Home, Darlington, served the family.
