A daughter of Levi B. and Ella B. (Hansford) Gosser. Her given first name was Itillia, but she always went by Ita. In fact, most of her children did not know her real first name until years after her death. Ita was married to General Eades she was 13 years old. Their first home in Gosser Ridge area of Russell Co., KY was a small tin-roof house, not much more than a cabin. After a couple of weeks of marriage, General returned Ita to her mother and said "teach her some things" – meaning about intimate relations. Apparently it worked because they had seventeen children over 24 years. Ita was a renowned cook, ran the household with a firm hand and could put forth some salty language if she felt the occasion required it. She loved to garden and to fish.
