Her funeral service will be on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at 1 p.m. at First Church of God in Lovington, IL with Martin King officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 from noon until the time of the service at the church.
Interment will be in Keller Cemetery in Lovington, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family in Zelma's name. The family has entrusted Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington to handle arrangements for Zelma.
Zelma was born on July 27, 1933 in Monticello a daughter to General W. and Ita (Gosser) Eades, Sr. She married Everett Spencer on January 25, 1952.He preceded her in death on December 4, 1991.
Surviving are two daughters, Char Reynolds of Pinellas Park, FL, Shirley (Donald) Jerden of Branson, MO and a son, Mike (Kathy) Spencer of Decatur; many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. five brothers, John Eades of Monticello, Ronnie (Dinah) Eades of Weldon, Paul Eades of Argenta, Junior (Betty) Eades of Lodge, and Glenn Eades of Greenup; three sister-in-laws, Irene Eades of Bement, Nettie Eades of Monticello, and Wanda Eades of Oklahoma ; one brother-in-law, Marty King of Monticello.
In addition to her husband Everett, Zelma was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Mary Bledsaw; son, Edward Crafton; six brothers, and five sisters.
Zelma and her husband Everett had owned and operated the G & S Market and ran a restaurant both in Lovington before their retirement.
She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. Zelma was a great cook and enjoyed making homemade pies and loved family gatherings.
