Henry Parks was the son of Thomas Parks and Anna Cheek Parks of Randolph Co., North Carolina.
Henry had 7 siblings: John, Milly, Fields, Joab, Ambus, George Washington and Lydia.
Henry married Susan Stout, daughter of Jacob and Mary Bolling Stout, also of Randolph County, NC., on September 15, 1835 in Parks Crossroads, NC.
Henry's brother, George W Parks, married Henry and Susan, before Henry migrated to Tennessee. Susan Stout Parks and Malinda, wife of George, were sisters. Henry and Susan named their first child George Washington, in honor of his brother.
Their first child was born in Tennessee so Henry and Susan must have left North Carolina shortly after their wedding in 1835.
Henry and Susan had 8 children: George Washington, William Gaston, Ephraim H., Mary Elizabeth, Thomas Jacob, Robert and Henry Samuel.

Henry and Susan lived out their lives in Dresden, TN and all but their youngest, Henry Samuel, remained in the area.
