Abigail was born to Abraham Walton and Rachel Heacock in Richland Twp., Bucks County, Pennsylvania. They continued to reside there until about 1796 when they moved to western PA with their 5 children, taking a certificate to Westland Monthly Meeting in WA. Co. PA.

She grew up with her siblings, Jonathan, Abraham, Margaret and Ruth Walton.

Abigail married Alexander Peden,an outstanding Quaker preacher and scholar on Jan. 5th, 1797, at a monthly Quaker Meeting in WA County, PA. To this union nine children were born, Ann, Obadiah, Jesse, Darius, Joseph, Lydia, Rachel, Alexander and Margaret Peden. Obadiah may have died young, as no records have been found on him, even in Quaker records.

She also raised Thomas Peden, her five year old stepson, Thomas. from Alexander's first marriage to Lydia Thomas. .

Quaker church records show, Abigail dismissed on Sept. 23rd., 1824. Is it possible that this was the date of her death?
