Mary Ann Cobb was born on Apr. 21, 1848 in Attleborough, Norfolk, England and died at her home in Blue Rapids, KS on Feb. 8, 1930 at the age of 81 years, 9 months, and 17 days.
On Feb. 19, 1864, She was united in marriage to William Fincham in a Baptist Chapel in Attleborough, England. To this union twelve children were born, six of whom were born in England and six in Kansas.
In 1876 Mr. and Mrs. Fincham & family sailed for America and settled near Irving, KS where they lived for nearly 11 years. In 1887 they moved to a farm northeast of Blue Rapids where they lived for 26 years after which they again moved to the present home in Blue Rapids.
Mrs. Fincham was a woman of sterling character, kind, thoughtful, sympathetic, & loving. She loved beautiful things and was beloved by all who knew her.
Survivors to mourn her loss, her loving husband; six sons and six daughters;Mrs. Bessie Wing, Mesa, AZ; Mrs. Gertrude Cook, Milford, UT; Mrs. Margaret Ewing and Richard Fincham, both of Waterville, KS; Isaac Fincham, Marysville, KS; Mrs. Sarah Monteith, James Fincham, William Fincham Jr., Thomas, Stephen Fincham, Mrs. Alice Farrar, Mrs. Katherine Shaw, all of Blue Rapids, KS;
Two brothers preceded her in death. George Cobb, a half-brother, who lived in Fairview, OK survives her. Also 62 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren and a host of friends.
Pallbearers were her six sons. Service was at the Methodist Church at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, 1930. Rev. J. J. Skinner preaching the sermon.
