William Fincham, Jr. was born Nov. 1, 1871 in Attleborough, Norfolk, England, the son of William, Sr. and Mary Ann Cobb Fincham. William came to America with his parents at the age of 5 years, and settled near Irving. He spent nearly all his life in the Irving and Blue Rapids community. On Dec 7, 1893 he was united in marriage to Edith Talbot, who preceded him in death. To this union were born 7 children; Clayton William in 1894, Gertrude Mae Fincham Wanklyn in 1895, Victor Herbert in 1897, Vida Edith Fincham Wilson in 1899, Edwin Alonzo in 1901, Myrtle Evelyn Fincham Estes in 1903, and Ruth Pearl Fincham Drinnen in 1913. William Fincham, Jr. died March 25, 1951 at his country home east of Blue Rapids. Survivors were his 7 children & spouses, four brothers and five sisters, who are Isaac, Thomas, and Stephen of Blue Rapids, KS; Richard of Waterville, KS; Katherine Shaw of Waterville; Maggie Ewing and Sara Monteith of Blue Rapids; Gertie Cook of Milford, Utah and Alice Farrar of Lemon Grove, CA. He was survived by 28 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren as well. One sister & one brother preceded him in death. Interment was in Prospect Hill Cemetery, rural Blue Rapids, KS.
