Eliza Silver Young married David Carney in 1882. She was 29 and he was 24. David was born 19 Aug 1857 in Greenwick, Cumberland Co., New Jersey to Jonathan 1826 and Ann Elizabeth 1832. David was a carpenter like his father. David and Eliza's children were; George D. Aug 1886, and L. Elizabeth Jul 1888. In 1900 they were living in Deptford Twp, NJ. They had had 5 children with 2 serviving. Living with them were their children D. George Aug 1886, L. Elizabeth Jul 1888, David's father, Charles Jonathan Carney Oct 1825 (widow) and a David's brother, Reeves Carney 1867. By the 1910 census David had died and living with Eliza were her son, George, her daughter, Elizabeth, and David's brother, Reeves. In 1920 living together were Eliza, George and his wife, Martha L. 1893, and their son G. Albert 1914 and Elisa'a brother Daniel L. Young. By 1930 Eliza, then 77 years old, had moved to Chester City, PA on Elsinore Street to live with her daughter, Elizabeth, who had married Sabastion Openheim b. 1887 NY. Also living there were the two sons of Sabastion and Elizabeth, Everett 1912 NY and George 1923 NY and Eliza's son, George Carney, then 44 years old.
