Edwin was the name entered in the Young family Bible but it seems he may have gone by "Edward". He was the son of Charles and Elizabeth Young. In 1880 he was living with his parents and siblings Samuel 29, Eliza 27, and Daniel 19 in Clayton, NJ. He was a glassblower like his father and brothers. In 1900 he was a boarder in the home of Lizzie Gaskill and her brother Winified Gaskill (glassblower) on Academy St. in Clayton. Both Lizzie and Edward were single. Lizzie was the sister of his sister, Letita's, second husband, George Gaskill. On 23 Sept 1905 Edward married Elizabeth "Lizzie" Gaskill in Bridgeton, NJ. According to the 1910 census he was married to Amy E. They had an adopted or taken in child named Irene Clayton b. 1903 (as listed in the 1910 census). The E. in Amy's name probably stands of Elizabeth and she was "Lizzie". In 1920 he was living in Camden Co. with his wife and daughter. He stayed in the area and according to the 1930 census he was living in Gloucester City, NJ with Elizabeth and his nephew, Richard Bakeley (Blakeslee) b. 1913. Edward's sister, Letita's, daughter's married name was Blakeslee.
