Both a farmer and a merchant, David White Ruffin, Jr. married Annye Elizabeth Bell on December 28, 1909 at Covington, Tennessee. He had an office at the Courthouse Square in Covington and had a good reputation as a businessman and real estate buyer. D.W., Jr. and Annye eventually lived just down East Liberty Street from her parents, Shade and Ella M. Bell. This couple had two daughters, Ola Belle and Norma Elizabeth Ruffin.
