Samuel was the son of Solomon Jr & Elizabeth [White] Bobo, of Cross Keys Union County SC, the grandson of Solomon Sr & Mary [Potts] Bobo, of Union CO SC, his White grand parents were, Robert Sr & Mildred [Whitehead] White, also of Union Co. Solomon Sr was a Revolutionary War soldier, serving in Gen Andrew Pickens Army, fought at the Battle of Cowpens, a turning point in the war. His Great Grand Father Capt Lewis Bobo, and his Wife Sarah both served in the Revolution. His White grand father Robert Sr, also served in the this War.

Samuel attended the Padgett's Creek Baptist church, in Cross Keys Union Co SC, he is recorded as being received and dismissed, before the journey to Texas.

Samuel migrated from Union Co SC, with his Uncle Elias White, arrived Feb 17, 1846, brothers, Jeremiah "Jerry", Green and Lewis were also in the group, along with other families from Union Co. Brother Lewis moved to Houston Co TX, died in the Civil War there, in the Texas Cavalry. Samuel and Green remained in Bowie Co TX.

He was a successful farmer in Bowie Co TX, received a Texas Land Grant on Nov 1, 1860 for 160 acres, Patent No. 652.

Strangely, after 1860, the family cannot be found in the Census of Bowie County TX.

Four of Samuel's brothers served in the Civil War; Tilman, Lewis, Hiram and Robert, Tilman and Lewis were killed in that war, Robert wounded twice, their brother in law who married sister Mary, Elijah Bailey, was killed at the Battle of Petersburg VA. Three months later, Tilman died at the same place, in the Petersburg seige.

Samuel was the son of Solomon Jr & Elizabeth [White] Bobo, of Cross Keys Union County SC, the grandson of Solomon Sr & Mary [Potts] Bobo, of Union CO SC, his White grand parents were, Robert Sr & Mildred [Whitehead] White, also of Union Co. Solomon Sr was a Revolutionary War soldier, serving in Gen Andrew Pickens Army, fought at the Battle of Cowpens, a turning point in the war. His Great Grand Father Capt Lewis Bobo, and his Wife Sarah both served in the Revolution. His White grand father Robert Sr, also served in the this War.

Samuel attended the Padgett's Creek Baptist church, in Cross Keys Union Co SC, he is recorded as being received and dismissed, before the journey to Texas.

Samuel migrated from Union Co SC, with his Uncle Elias White, arrived Feb 17, 1846, brothers, Jeremiah "Jerry", Green and Lewis were also in the group, along with other families from Union Co. Brother Lewis moved to Houston Co TX, died in the Civil War there, in the Texas Cavalry. Samuel and Green remained in Bowie Co TX.

He was a successful farmer in Bowie Co TX, received a Texas Land Grant on Nov 1, 1860 for 160 acres, Patent No. 652.

Strangely, after 1860, the family cannot be found in the Census of Bowie County TX.

Four of Samuel's brothers served in the Civil War; Tilman, Lewis, Hiram and Robert, Tilman and Lewis were killed in that war, Robert wounded twice, their brother in law who married sister Mary, Elijah Bailey, was killed at the Battle of Petersburg VA. Three months later, Tilman died at the same place, in the Petersburg seige.
