FAMILY LETTER:

In 1870, a family letter dated July 24, 1870, stated "...Jerry married a third time and died directly... The letter was between Jerry's, cousins in SC, Jason Wiley Murphy and wife Nancy [White] Murphy, to JW's sister, Edy Murphy. This still placed his death between 1860 & 1870.

JERRY'S BROTHERS IN THE CIVIL WAR:

Four of Jerry's younger brothers, who were of age, served in the Civil War, Tilman Bobo, died in the war, Lewis died in the Texas Cavalary, Hiram survived, brother Robert was wounded twice and also survived. Jerry also served see below.

=================================================================

JERRY'S MIGRATION TO TEXAS:

Jeremiah and 3 of his brothers, Green, Samuel, and Lewis came to Texas with their Uncle Elias White, in 1846, first settling in the Bowie Co TX area, Jeremiah, moved to Cass, and Green and Samuel remained in Bowie, Lewis moved to Houston Co TX, by 1850. That was Elias White's original destination, in 1846, to meet up with his older brother Stephen White, who had arrived in Houston Co in 1836, but liked Bowie Co so much they decided to remain. They were early pioneers in Bowie County Texas, of course they were preceded by the Indians, and Mexican's.

=================================================================

ELIAS WHITE'S ESTATE PARTITION:

Elias White's Estate Partition assigned '2' lots of land to "Jeremiah Bobo and his heirs", 1878, since all other children and heirs of Elias, received '1' Lot of land, I believe the '2' Lots of land to Jerry, was; "1 Lot" for Sarah White's two children, and "1 Lot" for Hester White's children, of course in 1878, both of Jerry's first two wives were deceased, these were large lots, as Elias owned over 2000 acres from the Ann Hale & JS Herring surveys, and other land transactions. I personally see this as circumstantial evidence that Sarah White Bobo was one of the two unknown daughters, of Elias White.

Burial Theory of Jeremiah Bobo
by descendant: Mr. Watts

"If Jeremiah moved from Davis/Cass County to Bell County with Laura Jane, W. W. Trimble, and John Lewis before the 1870 census and died in 1866, in Bell County, there may never be a grave site located. Aiken, Bell County Texas was flooded in the 1950's, when the U. S. Army Corp of Engineers developed Lake Belton. Where a lot of grave sites were located, and were moved to Moffat Cemetery in Bell County. There is the possibility that since the Bobo's and Trimbles used the Aiken Post office, in the 1870's, Jeremiah's grave may have been poorly marked or never relocated, prior to the flooding." To this date descendants have not found Jerry, among the relocated grave markers.
