Born July 8, 1908 in Cassville, he was the son of Clem and Ida (Parks) Bowman. On Aug. 31, 1964, he was united in marriage to Dorothy A. Traxler in Huntingdon. She survives.
Also surviving are the following children: Mrs. George (Shirley) Smith of Huntingdon; Jesse A. at home; Kevin M. of Elizabethtown; Mrs. Peggy Bowman of Virginia; Mrs. Edward (Betty) Shope of Saltillo and Jesse Bowman of Allentown. One daughter Patricia preceded him in death. There are 14 grandchildren and two great - grandchildren.
The following brothers and sisters survive: James of Shirleysburg; Alex of Rhode Island; Mrs. Martha Witters of Phillipsburg; Mrs. Foster (Belle) Weikel of McVeytown; Mrs. Sarah Bousum of Mapleton and Mrs. William (May) States of Huntingdon, R. D. 1. One brother, Fred preceded him in death.
Mr. Bowman was a member of the Fisherman's Methodist Church of Huntingdon. He had been retired for sometime and had worked for various brickyards and "sawmills in Huntingdon County.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 16 at the Robert E. Peters Funeral' Home, Huntingdon, the Rev. Anita Gearhart officiating. Interment will be made in Riverview Cemetery, Huntingdon.
Friends may call after 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
