Clem A. Bowman of Stone Creek, Huntingdon, passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Russell Bousum of Mill Creek, on Sunday morning, Nov. 8, 1953, at 5:30 o'clock.
He was born at Petersburg on May 26, 1881, and was a son of Michael and Lydia (Parks) Bowman. At the time of death he was aged 73 years, 6 months and 14 days. He was twice married. His first wife, Ida Myrtle Parks, preceded him in death in May, 1932. His second marriage was to Miss Veda Bowman of Huntingdon.
Surviving are his wife, one step-son, George, and the following children to the first marriage: Fred D. Bowman of Mill Creek; James H. Bowman of R. D., Mapleton Depot; Milton A. Bowman of Mount Union; Alex C. Bowman, in the U. S. Navy in South Carolina; Mrs. Bruce (Martha) Witters of Phillipsburg; Mrs. Russell (Sara) Bousum of Mill Creek; Mrs. Belle Lane of R. D. 1, McVeytown; Mrs. William (Mary) States of McConnellstown; and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Earl Kensinger of Hollidaysburg; Jess Bowman, Ernest Bowman and George Bowman, all of Harrisburg, and Andrew Bowman of Smith Valley. Twenty-three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive.
Mr. Bowman attended the Methodist Church at Cassville, and followed the occupation of coal miner and lumberman all his life.
Funeral services will be held at the Bechtel funeral home in Huntingdon on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o;clock, and interment will be made in the Cornelius Chapel cemetery in Hares Valley. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 o'clock this evening.
