Born Jan. 31, 1905 in Mapleton R. D., he was the son of Clem and Ida (Parks) Bowman. He was married to the former Martha Crownover on March 12,1930.
Surviving are his wife; six children, Harold Bowman, Huntingdon; Mrs:; Thelma Edwards, Lancaster; F.red BOwman Jr., Huntingdon! Mrs. Sarah Casner, Mill Creek; Sam Bowman, Alexandria and Mrs. Rebecca Lape, Ft. Worth, Texas; 24 grandchildren; four great - grandchildren; and the following brothers and sisters: Milton Bowman, Huntingdon; James Bowman, Orbisonia; Alex Bowman, MJddleton, New Jersey; Mrs. Martha Witters, Philipsburg; Mrs. Foster (Belle) Weikel, McVeytown R. D.; Mrs. Sara Bousum, Mapleton; and Mrs. William (Mary) States, Mc- Connellstowh.
Three children preceded him in death.
Mr. Bowman was of the Protestant faith. Employed by the Silica Brickyard in Mount Union for a number of years, he retired on disability in 1956.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, Feb. 3, at 2 p.m. at the Robert E. Peters Funeral Home in Huntingdon, Lieutenant Cynthia Morris officiating, assisted by the Rev. Donald Fishel. Interment will be made in Cornelius Chapel Cemetery; Mapleton R.D. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday, Feb. 2, from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service.
