Belle L. Lane WEIKEL, 87, of Creek Drive, Lewistown, died at 5:25 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, 2001, at Lewistown Hospital.

Born Aug. 18, 1913, in Cassville, she was the daughter of the late Clem and Ida Bowman. Her first husband, Harvey A. Lane, died May 31, 1953 and her second husband, Foster Weikel, died Nov. 8, 1987.

Surviving are: children, Mrs. William (Shirley) Hamman and Harvey D. Lane, both of McVeytown; and Carol Palm, McConnellstown; sisters and brothers, Martha Witters, Philipsburg; Sara Bousum, Mapleton; Mrs. William (Mary) States, McConnellstown; James Bowman, Shirleysburg; and Alex Bowman, Easton; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ella O'Donnell; an infant son, Terry Lane; two brothers, Fred Bowman and Milton Bowman; a grandson, Randy
Wertz; and a granddaughter, Tina Kearns. She was a homemaker.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Harshbarger Funeral Home, 3 South Market St., McVeytown, with the Rev. Donald E. Peters Jr. officiating. Interment will be in Cornelius Chapel Cemetery, Mapleton Depot.
