B. Thurston Childs
Mr. B. Thurston Childs, 82, of Minden, passed away on Sunday, April 28, 1996 following a lengthy illness. Childs was a retired superintendent for Alpha Construction Co.
Funeral services will be held at Rose-Neath Funeral Home's Minden Chapel under the direction of Rev. Malcolm Self at 10:30 a.m. on May 1, 1996. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Haughton.
Childs was preceded in death by his parents: Pharis Franklin Childs and Mamie Love Bonnell; his first wife, O'Leater Young Childs; daughter Gwendolyn Gail Graham; grandson, Ronny Thurston Makowsky.
Childs is survived by wife, Hollis Jeanne Houston Childs of Minden; two daughters, Sandra Faye Haynie and husband Leon and Gloria Joye Makowsky and husband Sam, all of Minden; two step-sons, Rodger Mitchell and wife Barbara of Shongaloo and David Mitchell and wife Kathleen of Atlanta, Texas; two sisters, Thelma Hodges and Ruth Boothe both of Evergreen; brother Huey Childs of Elm Grove; 7 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 6 step-grandchildren.
