J. G. Hurdle Dies Of Heart Attack
John Gideon Hurdle, 77, succumbed to a heart attack at his home in the Taylor community Saturday. Funeral services were conducted at Taylor Baptist church Sunday, 4 P.M. by Rev. Marvin Metts of Winona. Burial was at Clear Creek, Douglass Funeral Home in charge.
He was one of the county's leading citizens, having been a farmer and merchant at Taylor for 44 years, and a member of Taylor Baptist Church.
Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Jessie Bunch Hurdle, five sons, Thomas Albert, Charles Ellis, Hardy Travis and Lawrence Cecil Hurdle of Taylor, and James Earnest Hurdle of Summit; two sisters, Mrs. A. E. Curl, Mt. Pleasant, and Mrs. M. R. Jarvis, Slayden, two brothers, J. F. Hurdle, Holly Springs, and J. C. Hurdle, Mt. Pleasant, Miss, and eleven grandchildren.
