Born March 15, 1898, in Adams County, he was a son of the late William and Minnie Trostle Carbaugh. He was a husband of the late Jessie Weikert Carbaugh, who died in 1977.
He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in McKnightstown. He was associated with Gettysburg Ice and Storage Co. and the Gettysburg Furniture Co. for many years. He was a member of the Fairfield Fire Company.
He was also a farmer in the area for most of his life.
He is survived by one daughter, Shirley L. Carbaugh of Gettysburg; one grandson; one granddaughter; four great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Herr of Gettysburg; one brother, Charles R. Carbaugh of Gettysburg; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 20, at 2 p.m. at the Monaham Funeral Home in Gettysburg with the Rev. Charles A. Falk Jr. officiating. Interment will be in Flohr's Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1 p.m. until time of services.
