The youngest child of William Markey, Jr. (he had 22!) and Hannah Brown Norris. Her mother died just days after she was born and she was raised by her father's sister, Sarah Markee Myers. She married in 1869 at the Tippecanoe home of her sister, Eliza V. Markee Boyd, to Caldwell Watson Sproul, a veteran of the Civil War. They farmed north of Stillwater on a piece of the original Watson family farm, where she died of cancer at the angle of the left jaw. Han was the mother of Alice Clema (Pittis) and Leona Vail (Wallace). She was the gentlest of souls - and the keeper of the family treasures. She was truly beloved.
