Hannah was a daughter of James Browne Norris and Lady Eleanora Knype who came to Harrison County, Ohio from London, England via Prince Edward Island where Hannah was born. She married at home in 1830 to William Markey, Jr. (1806-1892) and was the mother of 8 - five of whom lived to adulthood: Daniel Limerick (1833-1890), William Lamdon (1839 - 1865), Sarah Ann (Kimball, 1836 - 1870), Eliza Vail (Boyd, 1837-1930), and Hannah Brown (Sproul, 1840-1910). Hannah died just a few days after the birth of her last daughter, named for her and who was bequeathed to William's sister, Sarah Markee Myers. There is no marker for Hannah's grave at the family cemetery.
