Leona was the elder daughter of Caldwell Watson Sproul and Hannah Brown Markee. She married at home in 1896 to Charles Rollin Wallace as his second wife. She was the mother of Marion Elizabeth (McManis), Salome Alice (Workman), and Lois Ann (Paolucci), and lived on a farm at Stillwater till her girls were teenagers, then moved to Delaware, Ohio for their college educations. She died at the home of her daughter, Marion McManis, in Endicott, NY.
