Jeanette P.Clark was born at Davenport, N. Y., June 29, 1835, at which place she resided until 17 years of age when she moved to Winona, Minnesota, and was there married to Charles E. Metcalf, Sept 20, 1854. Mr. and Mrs. Metcalf came to Longmont in 1876 and after residing here seven years went to Oregon. In November, 1897, Mrs. Metclaf was taken sick with heart trouble and on April 30, 1898, her trouble being so serious, they returned to Longmont hoping that the change would be beneficial, but since her arrival here she gradually grew worse until the end.
She was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church, having joined that religious organization when but sixteen years of age. She leaves, besides many warm friends, a husband, two sons and two daughters to mourn her loss.
