Mrs. M. A. Fay, 101 Year Old Ellensburg Woman, Is Taken by Death

Mrs. M. A. Fay, 101 year-old resident of Ellensburg passed away at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. A. C. Steinman early today. Her two daughters, Mrs. Steinman and Mrs. C. E. Wheeler, only survivors of a family of nine children, were at her bedside.

Mrs. Fay had reached the advanced age of 101 and until she broke a hip bone 14 years ago led an active life which was marked by her ardent church work. She joined the Methodist church at the age of 11 years and as long as her health permitted, did whatever she could for the church programs.

She was a direct descendant of William Bradford, second signer of the Mayflower compact, as well as a governor for a time of the colonies. She came from New York with her parents to Wisconsin when a child of 13 and lived there until 1855 at which time she went to Winona, Minnesota, to live, making that her permanent home until a year and a half ago when she came to Ellensburg to spend the remainder of her days with her daughters here. She broke her hip about 14 years ago and has been an invalid since then, but always remained cheerful and greeted friends with a happy smile.

Funeral services will be held at the Honeycutt chapel Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Ellensburg Daily Record, December 10, 1932

Marion was married four times (William Hubbell (burial unknown), Reynolds, Gerrish and Fay)
