Mrs. Oler Nelson, aged 44 years, died at her home in the town of Wiscoy, of meningitis, on the morning of June 26th. She was the mother of fourteen children, of whom eleven are living, and were present, as was also her husband and aged mother (Mrs. Clark), two brothers and three sisters, at the funeral which took place at the Methodist church. Winona Daily Republican, July 1, 1885

Died, Nelson-June 26th, after a long illness, Mrs. Caroline A. Nelson, wife of Oler Nelson, aged 44 years. The remains were interred in the Money Creek cemetery. The funeral services were at the M. E. church. The sermon was preached by the Rev. J. W. Mower. An unusually large congregation of kindred and friends attended the services and followed the remains to the tomb.
