Mrs. Van Alstine, 86, Passes Away
Funeral To Be Held Tuesday Afternoon


Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Emily Van Alstine, 86, who died here this morning in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lafe Falconer, will be held in the Christian church at 2 o’clock tomorrow afternoon. Services will be in charge of the Rev. E. F. Gassaway and burial will be made in the Stafford cemetery by the Kern Funeral Home.

She has lived in Custer county for the past 38 years and is well-known here. Since the death of her husband, eight years ago, she had made her home with her daughter in Clinton, and her son, near Stafford. Other survivors include 14 grandchildren*, including Charles Van Alstine, of this city, and 14 great grandchildren. The Clinton Daily News, Monday, February 15, 1932

*Elizabeth and Alphonso Van Alstine also had a son, Charles Van Alstine who was born September 15, 1867 in Minnesota, and died about 1897. There had been 25 grandchildren but only 14 were living at the time of Elizabeth's death.
