Mrs. Morcomb, Old County Resident, Dies While on Visit in Brainerd
Mrs. W. H. Morcomb, 257 East Fourth Street, died Saturday, September 14, while visiting at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Albert House, Brainerd, Minn.
Eliza Clark, daughter of Daniel B. and Phoebe Place Clark, was born in Oakfield, Wis., July 7, 1855, and was taken to Ridgeway, Minn., Aug. 1 of the same year. She was married to William H. Morcomb of Ridgeway, Oct. 1, 1876.
Mrs. Morcomb is survived by her husband; eight children, Mrs. Albert House, George Morcomb and William J. Morcomb, Jr., all of Brainerd, Mrs. James Karrigan, Houston, Earl H. Morcomb and Mrs. Walter Plughoeft, both of Ridgeway, Cecil C. Morcomb and Mrs. Joe Simons, both of Winona; 25 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Three sisters, Mrs. Marian Fay, Winona, Mrs. Elizabeth Van Alstine, Clinton, Okla., and one brother, A. B. Clark, Winona, also survive.
There will be a prayer at the home Tuesday, Sept. 17, at 1 p.m. and services at 2:30 p.m. at Ridgeway with the Rev. Williams of Money Creek, officiating. Burial will be in Bush cemetery. Winona Republican Herald, September 16, 1926
