Simon Brink, 62, dies after stroke
Hospers rites held
HOSPERS - Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon at 1 p.m. in the Vander Ploeg funeral home and at 1:30 in the First Presbyterian church at Hospers for Simon Brink, 62, who passed away on Friday afternoon at the Orange City Community hospital. He was hospitalized on Wednesday afternoon following a stroke.
Mr. Brink was born in Hospers on November 17, 1898. His wife, the former Gertie Vanden
Brink, died in 1955.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. John (Marlene) Alons of Sanborn and Miss Joan Brink of Mankato, Minn., and two sons, Stanley of Mankato and Allen living at home; five grandchildren; five brothers, Charles, Henry and Fred of Hospers, John of Primghar, Nick at Brooten, Minnesota; four sisters, Mrs. Herman Oldenkamp and Mrs. Andrew Boone both of Sheldon, Mrs. Tony Boone of Hospers and Mrs. Gerrit Roos of Boyden.
Pallbearers were Sam and Cliff Brink, Ellen and Edward Boone, Bill Oldenkamp and Sander Roos. Burial was in the West Cemetery.
