SERVICES HELD FRIDAY FOR MRS. HATTIE ROOS

Funeral services were held for Mrs. Hattie Roos, 74, of Boyden, Friday, January 22, at 1:00 p.m. at the residence, and at 1:30 p.m. at the First Reformed Church of Boyden. The Rev. Henry G. Schoon officiated and arrangement were by Vander Ploeg funeral home of Sioux Center, interment was at West Side Cemetery at Hospers, Iowa.

Pallbearers were Sander, Arie, Dick and John Roos, Leonard Broocks and Wm. Van Meeteren. A Men's Quartet composed of John R. VerMeer, Harold De Boer, Vernon Van Ommeren and Bob Den Hartog sang "What a Friend We Have In Jesus" and "Going Down the Valley" with Mrs. Wm. Rons at the organ.

Mrs. Roos, nee Brink, was born on December 6, 1890, at Hospers, Iowa. She lived in Sioux County all her life.

She was married to Gerrit Roos on May 29, 1908, at Hospers, where they farmed. Mr. Roos passed away five years ago.

Left to mourn her passing are five sons: Sander of Chandler, Minnesota; Arie of Sheldon; James at home; Dick of Archer; and John of Primghar; three daughters: Miss Jeannette at home; (Jessamine) Mrs. Leonard Broocks of Paullina and (Esther) Mrs. Wm. Van Meeteren of Melvin; 18 grandchildren and five greatgrandchildren; three brothers, Nick Brink of Brooten, Minnesota; John Brink of Primghar; Fred Brink of Hospers, and three sisters, Mrs. Herman Oldenkamp and Mrs. Andrew Boone of Sheldon and Mrs. Tony Boone of Hospers.

She was preceded in death by her husband, two children in infancy and three brothers.
