Katholeen Woollen Shaver, the mother of ten children, six of whom are buried near her. She was a good Mother, housekeeper, store clerk, factory worker, and teacher at Ogden School in a one room school house on Dayton Mountain. She was always willing to do what was needed to be done and was happy to make do with what she had rather than worry about what she didn't have. She retired from Robinson Mfg Co. where she enjoyed exchanging recipes and quilting patterns with her friends. She belonged to the Rhea County Home Demonstration Club in the Salem Community prior to moving to the Mountain, then belonged to the Bledsoe County Home Demonstration Club in the New Harmony Community.
Katholeen was raised in the Methodist Church, but upon her marriage to Leland Shaver, she joined the Salem Baptist Church so the family could worship together. She always saw that her children attended Church and Sunday School, Wednesday night prayer meeting, Daily Vacation Bible School, and Revivals when they were held. She later joined Ogden Baptist Church near her home on Dayton Mountain, where she was a member at the time of her death.
Her parents and several siblings are buried in the Buttram Cemetery in Dayton.
