Funeral services were held Tuesday for Mrs. Josephine Battaglia Barone, 78, who died March 24, in Wyoming County Community Hospital, Warsaw, after a short illness. Burial was in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Born in Valledolmo, Italy, she came to the United States in 1893 and had resided in Mt. Morris since that time. She was married in 1901 to Anthony Barone, who died in 1955. She was a member of the Assumption Church and the Sacred Heart and St. Lucy's Society of that church. Surviving are six sons, Salvatore of Syracuse; Paul of Dansville; Peter, Anthony Jr., and Joseph of Mt. Morris; and Carl of Rochester; three daughters, Mrs. Florence Matteson and Mrs. Jennie Provino of Mt. Morris; and Mrs. Mary Leta of Rochester; several grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
