Millie J. Davis, seventh child of John and Maria (Jewett) Davis, was born May 15, 1873 near Davis City, Iowa and died at the Decatur County Hospital, April 7, 1967, at the age of 93 years 10 months and 22 days. Millie, during her childhood, accepted Jesus as her Savior and continued to be a faithful attendant of the Assembly of God Church as long as her health permitted.
She was united in marriage to Joseph L. McLain, November 24, 1889. To this union nine children were born: Mary Ambrassat, Salem, OR; Grace Fitzwater, Kellerton; Charles McLain, Nellie Fitzwater, James McLain of Davis City; Berdie Ordway, Wichita, KS; Veta Hanie, Stephen McLain and Madge Rue of Des Moines. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Nellie, three sisters and four brothers. Survivors are eight children, five sons in-law, two daughters in-law, twenty grandchildren, forty-eight great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Charity Walters of Denver CO and other relatives and friends.
