Married John Davis on October 7, 1859. He lived 1839-1898.
Married Henry Reed on June 25, 1905. He was b. September 18, 1841 in Fayette CO., Ohio and d. February 15, 1938 in Decatur Co., Ohio.

Mrs. Maria Davis Reed, nee Jewitt, lovingly known as Grandma Reed, passed on to be with Jesus on Tuesday February 15, 1938, aged 96 years 4 months and 28 days.
Maria Jewitt, daughter of David and Mary Jewitt was born in Fayette Co., Ohio, September 18, 1841. Together with her parents and sister Mary she removed to the neighborhood of Lineville in Decatur county, Iowa, where she lived till she was married October 7, 1859, to John Davis of Davis City, Iowa. Their home was established on the farm just south and west of Davis City where there were born to them nine children, five of whom are living, three died in infancy and early childhood, and one daughter Narcissus Arizona, Mrs. John W. Frost, passed away March 18, 1934 Her Husband John Davis passed away December 19, 1898.
On June 25, 1905, she was again united in marriage, this time to Henry Reed, who also preceded her in death, on August 6, 1919. Grandma Reed was an exemplary Christian woman and mother, having experienced the salvation of Jesus Christ at the age of 14 years. She became a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church of which she remained a very faithful member until 1914, in which year she joined the Assembly of God Church having experienced the baptism of the Holy Ghost, it being remarkable in that she was then 72 years old.
When anyone inquired, Grandma was always ready to give an account for the hope she had of eternal life, saying that she never had had a desire to go back to a worldly life since becoming a true Christian admitting that she had made mistakes. She trusted the mercies of a loving Savior to forgive and joyful always in song and prayer. She was, although suffering some difficulties of advanced age, quite well until about a week ago when her last illness appeared, she maintained a clear mind till the last.
A loving mother, she was self-forgetting, concerned for her children, patient and uncomplaining. She leaves to mourn her passing two sons: John Douglas Davis of Davis City and Clayton S. Davis of Red Bluff, California, three daughters: Millie J. McLain and Grace L. E. Woodard of Davis City and Mary E. Walters of St. Joseph, Mo, twenty-one grandchildren, thirty-five great grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren, besides a host of friends.
Services were held at the Davis City M. E. Church on Feb. 18, with Rev. M. C. Roberts of the Assembly of God of Davis City, assisted by Rev. George R. Lamb of the Assembly of God of Leon. Sermon text was requested from II Tim.4:7-8, the singers being: Misses Lesty Kinsman, Ellen Bryant, Adeleine Sly and Delores Sly, with Miss Willow Anderson as accompanist; pallbearers being James McLain, Charles McLain, Chester Walters, Stanley Walters, Chester Woodard, Frank Ordway. Internment was in the Old Cemetery at Davis City.
