ERMA DEAN HARDESTY, 58, Battletown, died December 21, 2000, at Hardin Memorial Hospital, Elizabethtown. She was born March 23, 1942, the daughter of Verland and Marie Allen Hardesty. She was preceded in death by her father, Verland Hardesty, a sister, Dorisey Keith, and 3 brothers, Glenn Hardesty, James Hardesty, and Johnny Hardesty. Miss Hardesty is survived by her mother, Marie Hardesty, Battletown, 2 brothers, Phillip Hardesty, Ekron, and Perry Hardesty, Battletown; 5 sisters, Janet Curl, Vine Grove, Sue Moss, Laconia, IN, Peggy Bennett, Battletown, Regina Hayes, Payneville, and Joy Meeks, Irvington; 2 special nephews, Douglas Hardesty, Irvington and Kenny Curl, Brandenburg, and several other nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held December 23 from the chapel of Hager Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Abel officiating. Burial was in St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery, Payneville. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to help cover funeral expenses.
