They resided on a farm north of Hays until 1915, when they moved to a farm east of Ogallah. In 1921 they moved to Ness City where he resided until his death.
To this union were born 11 children: Wendelin of Ransom, John, Edmund and Lawrence, all of Ness City, Benedict and George of Grand Island, Nebr., Aloysius of Loveland, CO, Sister M. Agatha (Gertrude) of Wichita, Mrs. Max K. (Dorothy) Silkman, Mrs. Edward (Philippa) Brennan of Kansas City, and Mrs. Paul (Mary) Healy of McCracken.
He died in the Ness County Hospital on Tuesday, July 10, 1962 at the age of 76 years, 8 months, and 17 days.
Mr. Wassinger was preceded in death by his wife who died on Feb 11, 1957.
Besides the immediate family, he leaves to mourn one sister, Mrs. George Rohr of Topeka; three half-brothers, eight half-sisters, 24 grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held from the Sacred Heart Church on Thursday, July 12, at 9:00 am with the Rev. James Tainter officiating. Interment was in the Sacred Heat cemetery.
