An Obituary from "Gatesville Messenger & Star Forum," Friday, February 12, 1960:

Funeral services for Mrs. W. P. Paul, 37, of Gatesville were held at 3 p. m. Tuesday at the Berean Baptist Church. Mrs. Paul died Monday in the local hospital.
Dr. Kermit Johnson conducted the funeral rites, and burial was in the Restland Cemetery with Scott's in charge.
Pallbearers were R. F. Beeman, Johnny DeLord, Alfred H. Gould, Sherrill Vernon, Bobby Paxton and John Paxton.
Mrs. Paul was born Miss Mattie Helen Altum in Bell County June 29, 1922.
She and Mr. Paul were married in 1937. They lived in the southeastern part of the county until their home was taken in the Fort Hood reservation during World War II.
Mrs. Paul, a resident of Gatesville the last 15 years, was a member of the Berean Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband; one son, W. P. Paul Jr. of Gatesville; a daughter, Miss Johnnie Ellen Paul of Gatesville; her mother, Mrs. S. N. Altum of Gatesville; three brothers, Dennis Altum of Flat, Herman Altum of Belton and Thomas Herbert Altum of Graford; and five sisters, Mrs. T. F. Cockrell of Gatesville, Miss Ruby Altum of Gatesville, Mrs. W. R. DeLord of Gatesville, Mrs. Walter Diserens of Arnett and Mrs. Ellen Marie Jones of Gatesville.
