An Obituary from "Gatesville Messenger & Star Forum," Friday, 2-2-1968:

Thomas Herbert (Bob) Altum of Rt. 3, Gatesville, died at 3:15 a. m. Sunday in Coryell Memorial Hospital. He was 57.
Funeral services were held at 4 p. m. Monday in Scott's Funeral Home chapel and were conducted by Rev. Edgar McNeely. Burial was in Restland Cemetery.
A native of Coryell County, Mr. Altum was reared in the Brookhaven-Flat area and was married to Miss Zela Ingram June 17, 1928. They moved to Gatesville 18 years ago.
Mr. Altum was employed at Fort Hood. He was a member of the Cold Springs Baptist Church and was a World War II veteran, serving in the U. S. Navy.
Surviving are his wife; two sons, Harold Altum and Danny Ray Altum, both of Graford; a daughter, Mrs. Donna Faye Key of Gatesville; one brother, Herman Edward Altum of Belton; five sisters, Mrs. T. F. Cockrell, Mrs. W. P. Paul, Mrs. W. R. DeLord, Mrs. Walter Diserens and Mrs. Lloyd Jones, all of Gatesville; and six grandchildren.
Pallbearers for Mr. Altum's funeral were T. F. Cockrell, Edward Altum, M. C. Evetts, W. P. Paul Jr., Bobby DeLord, Johnny DeLord, Lloyd Jones Jr. and John Thomas Diserens.
